I love it when there's women on the show, 'specially when they're not detered by the frequent side quips and interruptions from TOC and MR. Laura was great. She really put the ho in hobo. Please, oh please, can she provide photos of a tight crowd of naked women crawling round the locker room looking for the boogery clown nose?
Wow. You need to cool it down RBurns. This is a family show. The Manson family.
I work for a chorus in New York called The Collegiate Chorale. We presented Treemonisa in concert at Alice Tully in 2006. The name of the number you were remembering is "A Real Slow Drag". Treemonisha is defintely worth a hearing whenever possible, there's some real beauty there, it's such a loss that Joplin's opera "A Guest of Honor" was lost, I would have loved to have heard his musical rendering of Booker T. Washington's invitation to the White House by Roosevelt.
Thank you for all you do, I always look foward to your thoughtful and humorous take on Opera in our time.
Jennifer
Thanks, Jennifer! I remembered it after we recorded the show but it was too late.
This week's Operabusters.
OK, I'm so far behind in listening, I'm sure someone's already posted this, somewhere.
"The Queen has acne"? Would that be Elisabeth Schwarzkopf?
Elizabeth=well, duh, and Schwarzkopf=Blackhead=acne.
It's a slow Saturday here.
I don't know if anybody sent their answers directly to Michael. but of course you are right.
Congratulations.
Comments on the last two episodes have been low, which makes me sad.
The OC
hm...the last two episodes that I haven't been on????? coincidence???????
Congrats, John.
And Doug. This will soon be remedied.
Thanks, Michael!
Woo hoo! FINALLY!
And I'm glad to hear Doug will be back soon. The triumverate will, indeed, be complete again.
I found it odd that there were many podcasts where Doug was replaced by a girl.........countertenor? Coincidence?
:-)
